AWANAS
Our church family has recently begun a new youth ministry program entitled AWANAS.
AWANA is the leading ministry to help local churches reach children and youth with the gospel and train them to know, love and serve Christ.
Awana blends Bible teaching, Scripture memorization and tons of fun. Our AWANA ministry will impact kids ages 2 to 18 along with their families and entire communities while helping the church instruct parents, train volunteers and make our children's ministry and youth ministry all that God intends them to be!
Nearly 12,000 U.S. churches and more than 4,000 churches overseas run the AWANA program, and the list is growing.
Youth Sports Night
During the summer months when the days have gotten longer and leave us with more hours of beautiful sunlight, what better way to enjoy that extra time than to bring our children outside for some fellowship and games??
Every other Friday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. join us for Youth Sports Night. We have new sports equipment to entice our children into a pick up game of basketball or badmiton and great opportunities for getting some exercise.
Baptist Women
Join us on the first Wednesday night of each month at 7:00 p.m. for our Women's Mission Group.
Our recent projects include collecting new underwear for children in the Appalachian Mountains who are not as fortunate as our own. Now that the holidays are upon us join us in dressing bears and babydolls for needy children and stuffing a few Christmas stockings with toys and gifts that can be enjoyed on Christmas morning by some very appreciative youngsters.
Baptist Men
Join us on the first Wednesday night of each month at 7:00 p.m. for our Men's Mission Group.
We have annual events such as the Pancake and Sausage Dinner where the men prepare and cook all of the food for enjoyment by our congregation.
Gospel Sings
Join us for fun and fellowship for monthly gospel sings.
Inspirational music to help lift your spirit and get your toe tapping along.
Annual Brunswick Stew and Craft Bazaar
On the third Saturday in October, please join us for our Annual Brunswick Stew and Craft Bazaar/Bake Sale.
Get some early holiday shopping done and enjoy a wonderful Fall lunch experience with us.
Church members donate ingredients and get together on the Friday night before to fellowship and slice potatoes, onions and other healthy ingredients. We gather again around 5:00 a.m. to get the fire started under the huge iron pots!!
You don't have to travel to Brunswick County, Virginia to enjoy this hearty stew. Early Virginia settlers made this hearty stew for serving to large groups of folks and we encourage you to join in on our celebration as well. In October 2007 we made 130 gallons of stew!!!
